MISLEADING
A real 2020 Russian research announcement is easy to recycle into a much broader present-day claim that the evidence does not establish.
What's true
In July 2020, KFC and 3D Bioprinting Solutions announced a Russian project aimed at developing laboratory-produced chicken nuggets using bioprinting technology, with a test product planned for that year.
What it does not prove
An experimental development announcement is not evidence that KFC broadly replaced conventional chicken with cultivated or bioprinted meat, then or now.
Why the claim spreads
It has the perfect ingredients for slop: a famous brand, strange technology and a genuine old announcement. Removing the date and experimental context can turn a true historical detail into a misleading current claim.
Check the date
Whenever a viral post says a company “has started” doing something extraordinary, find the source and publication date. Old pilot projects are routinely presented as current everyday practice.
